We’re taking a look at some of the new faces to join the Riot Quest lineup!

Scythe

Scythe is all metal and comes in 3 pieces.

A Nyss archer, Scythe boasts a long – perhaps longest – range gun in the game. Scythe is all about the hunt, with rules focus on the kill. SPD 5, Range 5 and Pathfinder means practically nowhere on the board is safe. Aim and Sniper boost her deadliness up with dice fixing and the potential to recover an Action die!

The Scythe box also comes with a new Riot Gear, the Sonic Disorientator.

Overall Scythe is pretty straightforward and efficient. Definitely a solid addition to any crew needing some extra ranged firepower.

Dr. Stygius

The Cephalyx are pretty rare in the Iron Kingdoms, even rarer in apocalypse that is Riot Quest. Stygius is 4 pieces and all metal.

The good doctor is a Specialist hero that bring along a very exciting ability, Healing! When healing you get to roll 2 Boost dice and health the number of strikes rolled. Some quick math on what kind of healing you can expect. Math done via the dice calculator on Monster Room Dice Calculator. While technically a Monsterpocalypse calculator the dice are the same so you can plug in Blue dice vs Defense and work out the numbers.

  • Heal for 0 : 11%
  • Heal for 1 – 34%
  • Heal for 2 – 36%
  • Heal for 3 – 16%
  • Heal for 4 – 3%

So most of the time you’ll be healing for 1 or 2 damage, which is pretty solid.

The other neat ability is Scramble, although given it’s random nature you can’t really count on. However when you do roll that super strike making your opponent lose an action die is incredibly good.

Both these characters look like great additions to your squad! Who are you more excited for, Dr. Stygius or Scythe?
