These factions kind of got the shaft from Psychic Awakening. They got new rules but no new models.

Psychic Awakening has been a massive undertaking. With pretty much all the factions getting new rules and lore updates, it’s been quite the ride so far. There were also a ton of factions that got some AMAZING looking models. But not everyone got something cool. Here are the factions got that skipped over during Psychic Awakening and didn’t get any new models.

Black Templars – Faith & Fury

Games Workshop had the opportunity to update the Emperor’s Champion or make another character into a Primaris version. But they got a big fat “nope” instead.

Tyranids – Blood of Baal

The Tyranids are the most highly adaptable organisms in the Grimdark Universe. They got some nice new rules but apparently no new kits to reflect how adaptive they are.

Thousand Sons – Ritual of the Damned

Sorry Sons of Magnus, you guys got some rules but got a pass on new models. Although I’m not sure what new models you could add for this faction – they already got new Rubrics and Terminators not too long ago. Maybe some more sacrificial rogue psyker/cultists?

Grey Knights – Ritual of the Damned

The new rules helped. And they got a new Chaplain unit which was nice. Too bad those Primaris Grey Knights didn’t pan out…

Genestealer Cult – Greater Good

The Genestealer Cult technically got a model release but it was the Kelermorph who already had rules and a model – you just couldn’t get one until it got re-released. Does that count? We don’t think so.

Astra Militarum – Greater Good

The Astra Militarum didn’t officially get a new miniature in The Greater Good book. However, the Honourbound Book came out along with the new Severina Raine model like a year apart. Plus they got the store opening exclusive female Catachan “Ripper” Jackson – does that count?

Both cool models – but we aren’t letting GW off that easy.

Imperial/Chaos Knights – Engine War

Sorry Knight fans – no new kit for you. Not even an upgrade sprue or decals either. Serves you right? Maybe…maybe not.

Chaos Daemons – Engine War

And Chaos Daemons, you also got a goose egg for new models in Engine War. Looks like the Adeptus Mechanicus stole everyone’s thunder in that book.

Death Guard – War of the Spider

Unless Papa Nurgle has a favor he didn’t call in yet, we haven’t seen any new Death Guard miniatures for War of the Spider. Looks like Fabius is taking on the glory.

Adeptus Custodes – War of the Spider

The Emperor’s Golden Boys also got shut out. But then again, they are perfect and never make mistakes – so why would they need new models?

Deathwatch  & Harlequins – White Dwarf

GW didn’t bother to put them in a book. Why would they bother to get new models? Ouch. Too soon?

We might still see some new models for Engine War/War of the Spider/Harlequins – perhaps GW is quietly sitting on some surprise releases. But we’re not holding our breath.

We’re not crying – you’re crying!
