Warhammer 40K: The OTHER C’tan

Everyone knows the Nightbringer and the Deceiver – but did you know there are a BUNCH of other C’tan? Check these out.

The C’tan are supposed to be the oldest beings in all existence in the Grimdark Universe. They had god-like powers but were overthrown by the Necrons who were able to turn their weapons on them and shattered them into shards.  These Star Vampires were once considered to be awakening – but that was later changed into the new C’tan Shards that we have now. Whatever the case, these shards were once parts of a larger whole and the beings they came from had names.

Aza’gorod, the Nightbringer

The first C’tan to encounter the Necrons. Powerful enough to impress its image as that of death itself on the psyche of the younger races, upon entering stasis it was almost destroyed by starvation but was released accidentally by the Dark Eldar, aided by a power-mad human industrialist named Kasimir de Valtos.

Mephet’ran, the Deceiver

The C’tan who made the bargain to turn the Necrontyr into the Necrons.

The OTHER C’tan

These are the other C’tan that are mentioned and have some details written about them.

Crimson God, enslaved by the Novokh Dynasty. It is commanded by the Novokh Overlord, known as the Crimson King.

Emberresh, the Suneater: Held captive by the Xonthar Dynasty, who use it as a weapon against their enemies.

Iash’uddra, the Endless Swarm: A C’tan hated by the Silent King.

Kalugura:  A horrific engine of destruction in the hands of the Necrons, it was entombed at the personal command of the Silent King during their uprising against the C’tan many eons ago.

Llandu’gor, the Flayer: The only C’tan fully obliterated by the Necrons, in his death he cursed the Necrons with the flayer curse.

Mag’ladroth, the Void Dragon: A figure of oblivion, wanton destruction and devastation. Speculated to be the Dragon of Mars.

Nyadra’zatha, the Burning One: A C’tan that gave the necrons the ability to access the Webway.

Og’driada, known as The Arisen, is a C’tan.

The Sufferer: Held captive on the Necron Tomb World of Silva Tenebris.

Tsara’noga, the Outsider: A C’tan that went insane due to its consumption of other C’tan or possibly an Eldar deity.

Yggra’nya, the World Shaper: A C’tan’s whose very thoughts could break apart a planet and reshape it in a form more pleasing to him.

Zarhulash, the Potentate: Used by the Necrons to power the Pharos.

Zul’channec:C’tan Star God that sleeps in the Necron Tomb World Trynnect.  Knights of House Krast helped prevent a cabal of Trynnect’s Crypteks from awakening the shard.
