Age of Sigmar: 3 Reasons We Need to Talk About That Sword
Here’s some things that I hope make it down the pipeline, courtesy of the new GW rumors.
To hold us over in this quarantine, GW has graced us with another look into the Rumor Engine, and I have to say this one got me excited.
Whatever model this thing is going to be, based on some of the recent things we’ve seen, it’s going to be exciting. Here’s 3 things that I hope that cool rapier turns out to be, in no particular order, as any of them would make me happy.
New Vampires
Now don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the current Soulblight range but they lack a certain…something. Vampires of old each felt like powerful, arrogant masters of their domain, even the bestial Ghouls. I’d love to see a return to those days, and for the Vampires to return to the army shifting force multipliers that they were. Making an army where most of my points are not spent on the army itself but rather on customizing the hero into exactly the monster I want to play would be awesome.
New Ulgu Aelves
We’ve had the Warcry reveal, we’ve got the armies of Teclis, I think it’s high time we see how the other Aelven general builds his boyes. The sleek design of the sword gives definite Aelf vibes, as does the wire basket hilt hand guard, and I think it would fit perfectly into the roster. I’ll admit that my desires for a faction to follow one of my favorite heroes of old is influencing this decision, but I think it would be really fun to see, especially if some of the rumors are true and Malerion allies himself with Archaon rather than Sigmar. Can’t say it would surprise me, all things considered.
Vampire Aelves
I know, I know, this sounds really silly, but hear me out. The faux newspaper that GW put out a few days ago mentioned the journalist going deep into Ulgu in search of Malerion. As he was writing the report on his findings, he was killed in his locked office and exsanguinated. All that sounds like a vampiric assassin to me, and since he wasn’t able to accurately report on Malerion, it stands to reason that Malerion was the one who sent it. But, I suppose time will tell.
What do you think the bit is going to be?
