Here’s a profile of my three favorite ghosts in AoS.

AoS is full of ghosts and spirits, both good and bad, that haunt the barrens of Shyish or defend the citadels of Hysh. Not all fall under the shroud of Nagash, and but admittedly he is the boss of all things spooky, so it makes sense that he would covet those few that got away. Here’s my three favorite AoS ghostly heroes, on both sides of the Soul Wars, and why I like them.

Lady Olynder

The HBIC (Head Banshee in Charge) of the Nighthaunt and Mortarch of Grief, Lady Olynder is a gorgeously designed model with a really cool set of rules. As a fan of the OG banshee, I loved the idea of a hero level scream queen commanding an army of angry ghosts, and the rose motif across her model gives her a frightening sort of beauty. She was the first AoS model that I officially bought for myself, and even though I haven’t played Nighthaunt in quite some time, she remains one of my favorite models in my collection.

Lord Kroak

An ancient and powerful spirit from an age long past, Lord Kroak has been long dead for as long as Warhammer lore can recall. Because of his birth in the second spawning, and possibly having accompanied the Old Ones to the world that was, this old froggy boy is even older than the necromancer himself, and likely views Nagash as a childish usurper. He is a powerful force on the battlefield, and has been consulted on several occasions to guide the Seraphon in enacting the Great Plan. When it comes to mighty ghosts, there are few mightier than the Master of the Starmasters.

Eltharion

Newly revealed by GW and brought more into the light recently, the Light of Eltharion is by far the best combat ghost in all the Realms. Blessed with the light of Hysh by Teclis and holding the reforged pieces of the soul of one of the greatest heroes of Ulthuan, the Light is shaping up to be one of the most powerful melee units in the whole of AoS, living or dead. We’ll have to see more about him when the Lumineth book finally drops, but right now I am fearful to have to face him down and excited to wield him myself.

Who’s your favorite spook?
