Arkham Horror: The Card Game – Innsmouth Conspiracy Preview
Fantasy Flight Games pulls the covers off the next deluxe expansion for Arkham Horror: The Card Game. Beware the Innsmouth look.
The cold Atlantic waters are going to heat-up with the next deluxe expansion for Arkham Horror: The Card Game. Get ready to head to the Lovecraftian classic location of Innsmouth as you sort your way through this mysterious investigation.
Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce The Innsmouth Conspiracy, the sixth deluxe expansion for Arkham Horror: The Card Game and the beginning of a brand-new campaign for one to four players!
The Innsmouth Conspiracy invites you to take your first steps in a twisting, time-jumping tale, starting with the campaign’s first two scenarios included in this expansion. From the heart of Innsmouth itself to the torturous coastline and beyond, these scenarios tee up an adventure that will continue to unfold across the subsequent six Mythos Packs. Far from including just two new scenarios, however, The Innsmouth Conspiracy brings five new investigators to the table with an undersea trove of player cards to support new types of decks—along with new mechanics for players to sink their teeth into, including keys, flood tokens, bless tokens, and curse tokens!
The Deep Beckons
Players kick this investigation off with a bad headache and find themselves trapped in a smooth stone chamber. With no memory of how they arrived, but they can hear the tide rising – and that can’t be good. Can you resist the call of the Deep Ones as you struggle to escape your new found surroundings? Players will have to face down new challenges and horrors derived from the depths of Innsmouth. Remembering how you got there might be a worse curse than you think…
On top of a whole new batch of treacheries to face down, this campaign also introduces new mechanics like keys and flood tokens. For example, the Fish Graveyard can only truly be cleared once you bring the red key to the location AND clear all the clues.
Flood, on the other hand, represent the very immediate danger of drowning on the spot! These new tokens will force you to move quickly if you want to survive.
More Allies Join The Fight
On top of the two new chapters in the new setting, you’ll also gain some new allies and familiar faces. Silas Marsh is slated to be released with this expansion (which is quite fitting if you’re familiar with his family name) and Sister Mary has also been introduced to the game as well.
If you’ll notice her ability, she interacts with the new Blessing/Curse mechanic in the game as well. These tokens will fill-up the chaos bag – however, they don’t replace other tokens. When you pull either, they add or subtract 2 to the pull – and you pull again! These can help boost your odds of success or can doom you to fail. Once those tokens are pulled from the bag, they also don’t go back in after the pull.
Sister Mary’s personal weakness can also REALLY mess with her and the other players, too. Crisis of Faith sure will keep players from wanting to overload the chaos bag…
While Sister Mary directly interacts with the Blessing/Curse Mechanic, all classes will be interacting with the new tokens. Two examples given were the new Cryptic Grimoire for the Seeker class and the Ward of Radiance for the Mystics.
This new deluxe expansion is slated for a Q4 2020 release. Provided nothing else fishy happens…

Not far from Arkham, the stooped and weathered town of Innsmouth squats on the Atlantic coast. An aura of decrepitude and decay hangs over the city like the ocean fog, from the weirdly glowing windows of the Gilman House to the deserted and toppling Fish Street bridge. Beyond the city limits, the Innsmouth shoreline is pocked with half-flooded tidal tunnels and unnatural coves. Who knows what strange, abyssal trinkets you might find, among the skeletons of fish and rotting seaweed?
