Some of your favorite games might be a bit more expensive the next time you see them in your FLGS.

Asmodee USA announced price increases back in March, however, most retailers and customers may not have noticed due to the pandemic. As more states and stores in the US start to come back (with new safety precautions in place hopefully) fans might notice that some of their favorite games have gone up in price. Here’s a list of the games that have been impacted by this price increase.

Again, these increases were announced before and were slated to hit May 1, 2020. It’s got some perennial classics on that list like Ticket To Ride, Catan, Splendor, Arkham Horror (both the board and card game), Mysterium, and Pandemic: Legacy. Even the Star Wars: Legion Core Set got a $10 price increase. According to Asmodee USA:

This is the first price increase Asmodee USA has implemented in a few years. This increases to costs and MSRP ensures Asmodee USA can continue to offer excellence in service across distribution, sales, and marketing. Over the past two years, the 2018 and 2019 inflation rates has been around 2%. Asmodee has born these costs without an increase in our prices. This increase is designed to covered those increases and impacts that they have had on our bottom line.

This price increase comes along as Asmodee USA is also entering distribution arena by selling direct to all retail channels. Those plans are set to kick off on July 1, 2020. We’ll have to see how much these price increases and distribution changes will impact the local stores and if those changes will have further ripple effects on the consumers.
