We’re incredibly excited about the release of the next bad guy Crisis Protocol affiliation, Black Order! Here’s all we know about the in-game rules so far.

The Lineup

The Black Order Affiliation has been listed as what we’ve seen in the MCU, which for now means no Supergiant. That isn’t to say this lineup won’t be expanded later, we know that Crisis Protocol is based more on comics than the MCU so fans of Supergiant shouldn’t give up hope.

We’re gonna take a look at the revealed cards for the Black Order and some quick thoughts on them.

Corvus Glaive

At 4 pts Corvus comes in with some really solid abilities. I like Pierce on the basic Strike allows for more power generation. Death Blow is fantastic and allows some serious movement across the table as well as having Flurry.

Husband of Proxima Midnight is excellent, being able to double up on activations will allow this husband and wife duo to take down some heavy targets. This may also give you a high chance of keeping priority, as your opponent will likely be taking the last activation in the round because you took 2 in a row. Lastly, Glaive of Immortality is just a solid ability to stick around in the fight.

Proxima Midnight

Some interesting similarities to her husband, Pierce on the basic Strike, movement tricks tied to attack, built-in damage reduction.

I love Martial Prowess, it has the potential of playing mind games with your opponent and they will question if they should attack Proxima at all if she has 2 power to play this superpower. Wife of Corvus Glaive is just counterpart to her husband’s ability, allowing you to get double activations off with ease. I’m incredibly excited for this pair, they seem incredibly potent on the table.

Ebony Maw

Freshly spoiled from Atomic Mass Games, Ebony Maw brings along a suite of mind-melting powers.

I love the Mind over Matter ability, allowing Ebony to be a 6 Defense against Red and Yellow attacks. Both Ebony’s attacks are Mystic, which is rare, and have fantastic abilities. Ebony boasts 2 ways to move enemy models on his activation, a Short advance from Black Tongue or short throw from Herald of Doom. In addition, Telekinetic Powerhouse brings a long size 4 terrain throw!

All of that powered by Incredible Psychic Potential giving Ebony 3 power during each Power phase. While coming in at a steep 5pt threat, I think Ebony is well worth it.

Black Dwarf

We don’t know much yet about Black Dwarf, other than he is huge! I’m expecting a melee powerhouse, at either point cost 3 or 4.

Thanos

The big man himself, Thanos comes complete with a Throne and looks incredible. We know there will be a regular fist and gauntlet fist available, so you can decide what your Thanos will look like. I’m personally hoping the fist can be magnetized for easy swapping.

We haven’t seen any of his cards yet. But we do know what comes in the box(although the image resolution is a little low)

What is very cool is Thanos comes with all 6 Infinity Gems, so there isn’t any need to grab other expansions simply to collect all the gems.

Hype Train To The Max

The Black Order excitement is in full swing. I’m excited to see the remaining cards and can’t wait to put these models on the table! I think I am personally excited most for the Proxima and Corvus combo plays.

What are you most excited about for Black Order? Will you be getting the whole affiliation?
