Masks of Nyarlathotep might be an iconic Call of Cthulhu adventure, but right now, these are also literal masks that you can buy to wear on your own face.

Masks of Nyarlathotep is a classic Call of Cthulhu adventure. It pits investigators against the myriad cults and machinations of the elder god Nyarlathotep, the sole member of the mythos to still walk the face of the earth. He is the messenger of the gods, the opener of the ways, and in Masks, the center of a plot to bring the elder gods to Earth once more.

It is a masterwork of an adventure, with players starting in New York, following on the trail of the Carlyle expedition, and from thence forth heading to London, Cairo, Kenya, and Shanghai–it is an open-ended race against the cults of the crawling chaos with five different “main scenarios” that are interwoven, though approachable at the players’ discretion. Even if you have never played Call of Cthulhu, it’s a masterclass in adventure design and worth checking out.

But, this week, they are also actual masks that you can wear on your face. While they may not be as effective as an Elder Sign at keeping floating polyps away, they are a fairly stylish way to keep your face covered, that none might know how squamous and pale your being has become, these months shut away from the sunlight. Check ’em out, from Chaosium.

The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting communities everywhere. We are all in this together, all over the world, and it’s never been more urgent to support the global response. Here are two ways we’re helping support those efforts:

Now available at our Redbubble merchandise store: the Mask of Nyarlathotep, and other Masks to wear until the Stars are Right again! Buy any 4 and get 20% off. For every mask sold, Redbubble is donating a mask to the Heart to Heart International charity.

You can also get in on some Glorantha action to help benefit organizations fighting Covid around the world.

With our friends at Second Age Publishing, on itch.io we’ve released a new ‘Print-And-Play’ board game, Last Faction Hero, set in Greg Stafford’s World of the Glorantha. The game is “Pay-What-You-Want”, and until May 30th, we’re donating 100% of all proceeds to the World Health Organisation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

Both of these are ongoing through May, so check them out.
