Warhammer 40K: Engine War Imperial Knight Rules Preview

The Imperial Knights are featured in Engine War and today we’re getting a look at some of their new rules!

You really can’t have a book called “Engine War” in 40k without massive motorized mayhem in the form of Knights. And now we’re finally getting a feel for what else they are bringing to the table.

Imperial Knights used to be the kings of the battlefield (at least looking at the Matched Play scene) until some tweaks brought them down a peg. It wasn’t until Space Marines got their update until they were truly dethroned however. Let’s see if these new rules will help put them back on top.

New Stratagems

These are just the tip of the spear, so to speak. Max shots? Auto-hits? Extra attacks? Yep – all that and more for the Imperial Knights.

Create-A-House

“As with their dark, traitorous brethren, the Imperial Knights now also give you the option to create your own knightly household. When you do this, you get to select two abilities and apply them to your force.”

This is just one pairing of rules – there are many more to choose from so you’ll be able to create your own custom Knight House.

Classics For A Reason

Maybe you don’t want to create your own House – that’s okay! You can throw your support behind one of the previously mentioned Houses and swear loyalty to the Imperium of Man or the Machine Cult and score some more benefits.

Each of the allegiances also offers 3 new Warlord Traits to choose as well:
