Entering the War of the Ring with GW’s Middle-Earth Miniatures Game
It took a long time, but I finally tried Lord of the Rings. The pictures in this post are from my first try of Middle-Earth: The Strategy Battle Game by Games Workshop!
These pictures are actually just over a year old, but they are hitting the net now. Rather than telling a story, the point of today’s post is to share some pictures that I think are cool.
COVID-19 shut down a lot of great conventions and events. Among them was Hotlead 2020, which is my favorite gaming convention in Ontario. Although Hotlead did not run this year, I still have some great pictures from last year. The event organizer even has the dates set for 2021. If you are near Ontario, Canada, this event is well worth a look. With all of that out of the way, let’s look at some cool pictures!!!
The Pictures
While my side of the table secured their objective and took out their enemies, the battle raged on across the rest of the table.
Wrapping it up…
This battle was a lot of fun. Jason Chaplin made the entire table himself. All those minis, and that terrain, are absolutely beautiful! He and his friends form the Ontario Hobbit Adventures SBG group ran this excellent demo game.
I really enjoyed this battle. For more, check out my Battle Report. You can also check out some of the amazing Middle-Earth tables that were at Hotlead 2019, and visit my article round up for that event.
As a reminder, if you are in the Stratford (a 1.5 to 2 hour drive from Toronto), Ontario, Canada area March 19th to 21 (2021), put Hotlead 2021 on your calendar. In years past, Hotlead pulled in roughly 300 participants to one of the most fun events that I attend. Their big draws include a massive bring and buy a table with everything priced to go and participation games galore!
Thanks again for reading, and until next time, Happy Gaming Everyone!!!

I would like to use this opportunity to let you know about my latest post on Must Contain Minis. It is a huge 2800 word report where I discuss my newest quest in finding myself a showcase gaming table for my work on Must Contain Minis and Bell of Lost Souls. In it, I take a look at 4 companies that make designer game tables, 4 carpenters that can build custom tables, and multiple ways that you can build your own.
Also, for 2020’s Hotlead, Jason Chaplin made an awesome looking Alien’s table that none of us got to see in person due to COVID. You can see that table on his YouTube channel.
More about Must Contain Minis…
For those that don’t know, Must Contain Minis is my personal Website. On it, I write about all sorts of miniatures games. What I love are games that others might consider obscure. You will find posts about tons of indie games, historical games, and games from small publishers. You can also follow me on Social Media. I am very active on Facebook and share posts of a wide variety. I upload my best pictures to Instagram and am fairly active on Twitter.
My aim is to promote gaming with companies outside of those that already dominate the gaming market.
