D&D: Beadle And Grimm Announces A Silver Edition Of Rime Of The Frostmaiden
Friday night, under the cover of darkness, Beadle and Grimm announced a second box for Rime of the Frostmaiden. Come take a look.
When Beadle and Grimm first announced the Platinum Edition of the upcoming D&D adventure Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, complete with premium features like:
- The Entire Module divided into booklets that are easier to manage.
- 20 wizkids Painted Minis
- 5 or more full-size Battle Maps
- 60 Encounter Cards
- Handouts, High-Quality Jewelry
- Bonus Art, Bonus Encounters, pre-built PCs, and whatever else is moving around the warehouse too slowly to escape
It quickly sold out, despite it’s $499 price tag. Now, thanks to the interest of the community as well as increased hype about Frostmaiden, Beadle and Grimms made a late announcement Friday night about a new version of the Icewind Dale adventure. Only this time, it’s gone Silver. What does that mean?
For starters, it means you’ll save more than $300, as the price tag for this is only $175, but you’ll still get a ton of handouts and table aids. While you won’t get your minis or as many Encounter Cards (the Silver Edition only has 40 instead of 60), you’ll still get things like high quality handouts, pre-printed battle maps for all the big encounters in the game. One of the warehouse goblins let slip a minor spoiler for Rime of the Frostmaiden, showing off a Shardalyn Dragon Pin, based on a Shardalyn Dragon Construct that “plays a big role in the–oops, not supposed to say that” so, consider yourself spoiled. Here’s a look at the pin/dragon.
Another detail they let slip is that there’s one other piece of jewelry in the Silver Edition, but they were very guarded as to what it was. It’s expected to ship in November, around the same time as Strahd’s Legendary Edition. And while you won’t have as lush a map as you might get (after all, they have to take down the price somehow), if you’re looking for a premium D&D experience with a lot of prep already done and ready to go, then your table might use the Silver Edition. And since they’re making as many as they have demand for, this is one item that won’t sell out. Take a look.

All the Platinum Editions are gone.
But if you still want a taste of the icy horror that lurks in Icewind Dale, may we recommend a bit of Silver to go with it?

But no minis! They don’t fold so well.
