Millie Bobby Brown has left Hawkins and landed in late 19th England.
It’s nice to see Brown take on a role outside of playing 11, one that allows her to stretch her acting talents. Looks like a great pick for family movie night, or a fun diversion from life and the heavier series out there. The movie is based on the YA novel of the same name by Nancy Springer – there are 6 in the series, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more of the young detective.
When Enola Holmes—Sherlock’s teen sister—discovers her mother missing, she sets off to find her, becoming a super-sleuth in her own right as she outwits her famous brother and unravels a dangerous conspiracy around a mysterious young Lord.
It stars Millie Bobby Brown, Sam Claflin, with Henry Cavill and Helena Bonham-Carter; and directed by Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag).
Enola Holmes makes her debut on Netflix September 23.
