Riot Quest: Unboxing – Malvin & Mayhem Are Punchy
It’s time for the first Riot Quest Boss Fight! Take a look as we unbox the Malvin & Mayhem expansion.
The Malvin & Mayhem expansion is not only a new character to be played in your regular Riot Quest games, it’s introduces a new Boss Fight mode!
Malvin & Mayhem Model
The is a full metal model and comes in 9 parts along with a large base. It is the size of a heavy warjack from Warmachine.
What Else Is In The Box?
Along with the model you’ll get all the cards you need for the Boss Fight game. This includes a different Boss Fight stat card, deck of Boss cards, and rules pamphlet. This expansion also has a standard stat card for regular games and 5 different gear cards.
The Boss Fight rules are a co-op game mechanic allowing 1-4 players a chance to team up and take on a super-powered version of Malvin & Mayhem.
Riot Gear
You’ll notice that all of these gear cards can only be used by Malvin & Mayhem. That’s because during a game you’ll have to find (purchase) the parts needed to construct your ultimate weapon!
Stat Cards
Left is Boss Fight, right for regular games
For now, I’ll just focus on Malvin & Mayhem in a regular game. Built let’s you power up M&M while on the bench. It also allows for multiple gear cards to be equipped. Be warned, with great power comes great responsibility – you’ll only get one shot to unleash havoc with M&M! That’s because Built also states this model does not go to the cooler and is removed from the game once knocked out.
The Scavenge rule is handy for getting all that expensive gear, every time you hit an enemy you gain 2 loot tokens! This will apply to the Wrench Launcher gear as well. I like the idea of equipping it while on the bench then sending in Malvin & Mayhem to start wracking up the damage and getting that loot.
Wrap Up
In a regular Riot Quest game, Malvin & Mayhem are a force to be reckoned with, especially once they get some Riot Gear. Has M&M made it into your games yet?
What do you think about the new Boss Fight expansion, have you been able to take down this first Riot Quest boss?
