Age of Sigmar: Battleforces – Deal or No Deal 2020 Edition
We know the price points of the Games Workshop Battleforces for Age of Sigmar. Are they a good deal? Let’s take a closer look to find out!
We already tackled the pricing breakdowns for these boxes. Plus we did this same thing for the 40k side of the house. Today, we’re looking at the remaining AoS Battleforces now that we know the pricing. They are discounted vs the MSRP – but how much savings are you actually getting? Let’s take a look and find out.
Disciples of Tzeentch Battleforce – Fatesworn Host $210
MSRP Total: $312
Actual Price: $210
Total Savings: $102
Kharadron Overlords Battleforce – Barak-Nar Skyfleet $210
Brokk Grungsson, Lord-Magnate of Barak-Nar $40
Grundstok Gunhauler $50 x 2 = $100
MSRP Total: $308
Actual Price: $210
Total Savings: $98
Ogor Mawtribes Battleforce – Meatgrinder Warglutt $210
Ogor Gluttons $48 x 2 = $96
MSRP Total: $308.50
Actual Price: $210
Total Savings: $98.50
Gloomspite Gitz Battleforce – Fungal Loonhorde $200
Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig $35
Rockgut Troggoths $60 x2 = $120
Squig Hoppers $50 x 1.5 = $75*
MSRP Total: $295*
Actual Price: $200
Total Savings: $95
*Note: Squig Hoppers/Boingrot Bounderz come in unit boxes of 10. There are 14 of them shown in the picture above. We’re not entirely sure what happened with the other 6 Squig Hoppers or if there was some type of sprue shortage. Our guess is that the other squigs ate them.
So once again, we see that the Battleforces boxes have increased in price vs last year. However, if you take a look at the MSRP dollar amount and compare them to the Battleforces, it’s hard to argue you’re not saving some money there. Are these good deals? If you’re interested in collecting any of these armies then yes. You’re not going to find direct deals like this from Games Workshop very often. Their respective Start Collecting! box sets are about as close as you’re going to get to the roughly 30% discount you’re getting. If you’re not looking for any of these armies then obviously these aren’t really a deal you need to pursue. Leave them for someone else who will use/wants them is my recommendation.
One other note. As we mentioned on the 40k side of things, we were hearing from various retailers that the allocations of these boxes might be a bit smaller than expected. So if you DO want any of these Battleforce boxes, you might want to contact your FLGS and lock down an order for one while you can. Good luck.
