D&D: The Stranger Things Dungeons & Dragons Holiday Special
Can the cast of Stranger Things save Christmas by playing D&D? Catch the D&D holiday special you never knew you wanted to see until today!
There is a reason that Stranger Things struck such a chord with people, beyond just the thrill of seeing 80s nostalgia reimagined with modern cinematography–the chemistry between the cast has always been incredible. And it’s still on display even as they come away from the set of an 80s town warped by a strange cold war psychic experiment, and touched by monsters from another dimension, to join the set of a D&D holiday special, which also features monsters from another dimension.
Yesterday’s Holiday Special was a surprise addition to the D&D Holiday Lineup, promoted by both WotC and Netflix, this livestreamed event brought together David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, and Natalia Dyer to “play the ultimate game of D&D.” Their characters, led by Harbour’s ‘Kenny Kaboom’ a sorcerer with a troubled past but heart of gold, are on a mission to save Christmas. And shepherding them through this task is Chris Perkins as the DM, putting in some real work explaining the game for first-time players.
It’s a delightful show. You can tell these folks are friends outside of Stranger Things; their chemistry is a delight to watch as they undertake this D&D game together. It’s only a two-hour-ish session as well, so if you’re looking for something to watch in between Jingle All The Way and Rare Exports, you can really do wonders with this one. Check it out below.
Toy Time for Ten-Towns
Rounding out our season of holiday-themed games is a very special event featuring cast from Netflix’s Stranger Things. Dungeon Master, Chris Perkins leads David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, and Natalia Dyer on an icy-dicey adventure through the frozen north.
Will this adventuring party give the children of Ten-Towns a reason to celebrate this year?
