Werewolf: The Apocalypse Reveals 6 Minutes Of Gameplay
The upcoming Werewolf: the Apocalypse game, in which Werewolves fight eco villains to save the world, has just unveiled six minutes of gameplay.
That’s right, there’s another World of Darkness video game coming out, and this time it’s not full of clan intrigue, princes, cities, or brooding, angsty goths. Instead you’ll be playing as about seven feet of sentient beef in the form of a Werewolf who is going up against the villainous corporation (isn’t that all of them) Endron, in a not so subtle war to save the Earth from climate change.
The oil company is a front for the Wyrm and is also somehow equipped with both magic mutant zombies, aka fomorians, and powerloader-esque mechs, all of which you can see in the latest gameplay video below.
Werewolf The Apocalypse Earthblood Gameplay Demo (New Werewolf RPG Game 2021)
A unique experience full of savage combat and mystical adventures, inspired by the famous role-playing game.
You are Cahal, a powerful Garou who chose to go into exile after losing control of his destructive rage. You can transform into a wolf and a Crinos, a huge ferocious beast. You must master the three forms and powers of human, wolf and Crinos to punish those who defile Gaia, Mother Earth. But your worst enemy is yourself: if you don’t contain your rage, it can destroy you once again…
Each form has its advantages: the wolf can sneak around undetected, Cahal as a human can interact with other people, and the Werewolf can unleash its rage to tear enemies apart. This rage is your greatest asset but also your weakness…
AdvertisementOn his quest for redemption and blood, Cahal plays a crucial role in the great war between the Garou and Endron, a powerful oil company that serves the Wyrm, a destructive spirit ravaging the planet.
If you watch the gameplay, you’ll see Cahal go through gameplay that feels very much like a modern open-world game. It’s got shades of Watch Dogs and God of War mixed in, with a lot of combo/ability based melee combat going on. It looks like there’s a bit of depth to the system with two different primary forms: agile or strong, depending on whether you want to do damage or dodge hits.
As you play, you’ll grow in power. You get rage, you use the rage to power your different melee abilities, eventually unlocking a third, berzerker form where you get the best and worst of both worlds. And you’ll fight enemies armed with silver bullets, fire, and robots–and those are the main things you’ll need to worry about, otherwise you’re an unstoppable werewolf who takes no prisoners.
