Warhammer Quest: Cursed City – Exploring The Heroes
Games Workshop revealed all the heroes of the Cursed City this past weekend. Let’s take a closer look at these Agents of Defiance.
This past weekend had a ton of great reveals and one of the biggest was the showcase on all the things in the Cursed City. The models and setting of this game continue to astound this looks to be the start of a fantastic boxed game. Today, we’re going to dive a little deeper into the heroes of the Cursed City and see what GW has to say about each one.
(from left to right) Jelsen Darrock, Emelda Braskov, Glaurio ven Alten III
Jelsen Darrock
We got a bit more of a deep-dive in to this once-witch hunter’s past. He was kicked out of the Order of Azyr for “unknown reasons” but I have a feeling it was because he might have been a bit too extreme. Packing all the tools of his former trade, he’s ready to face the undead and whatever else the Cursed City will throw at him.
Emelda Braskov
A member of the former army of Mournhold (the name of Ulfenkarn aka The Cursed City), Emelda is here for revenge. The army of Mournhold held the line until a fateful alliance with Radukar the Wolf “saved” the city. Now she’s back to retake the City – or at least take out it’s black heart!
Glaurio ven Alten III
A member of one of the Noble families the ruled the former city of Mournhold, Glaurio ven Alten III is here to settle some scores. He’s the last member of his blood-line…if you don’t count his three cousins who he is there to kill. They each joined up with the Vampires and Glaurio seeks to redeem the family name. Thankfully, he’s not just some spoiled noble – he’s at least got lots of dueling training. Here’s hoping he can put those skills to work in the Cursed City.
(from left to right) Qulathis the Exile, Brutogg Corpse-Eater, Dagnai Holdenstock
Qulathis the Exile
Another hero that we’ve already gotten a bit more background on. On a quest for revenge against the vampire that killed her kin, Qulathis may have chosen exile over obedience, but at least she’s packing some powerful tools to get her vengeance. With a quiver full of magical arrows, the Undead are going to be in a world of hurt…I just hope she can recover her arrows after a fight.
Brutogg Corpse-Eater
As the name implies, Brutogg does indeed eat corpses. That’s what has brought him to the Cursed City – it’s a feast for an Ogor like him. He’s got a taste for the fermented flesh of the long dead, and their bones, and pretty much whatever has stopped living. It’s a little ironic that the undead should fear being eaten by Brutogg and not the other way around.
Dagnai Holdenstock
One of the few heroes that has come to the Cursed City in search of riches in stead of revenge, Dagnai Holdenstock knows an opportunity when he sees one. He’s here to loot the city of all the treasures he can find – hey, they’re dead! They don’t need Aethergold like Dagnai does…
(left to right) Cleona Zeitengale, Octren Glimscry
Cleona Zeitengale
Cleona Zeitengale is the last of the Cult of the Comet. Apparently, before the city fell, her order tried to warn folks about the impending doom. And with such prophecies as clear as the one above, I’m surprised folks just didn’t heed their warnings. Anyhow, she’s also here to get vengeance on the vampires. We’ll see if her Cult had a plan for retaking the city after it fell.
Octren Glimscry
Octren has been living in the Realm of Death for many years and is a bit of an expert on the Shyish realmstone known as grave-sand. He actually worked with Torgillius the Chamberlain previously. But now, the two former colleagues are are odds and Octren wants to free the city instead of grant the citizens unlife.
That’s what we know so far for the Agents of Defiance for the Cursed City. I can’t wait to give them a go in the new game!
