Age of Sigmar: Three Cursed City Units I’m Excited to Field
These heroes don’t exist in a bubble…
Cursed City is right around the corner, and we know now that EVERY unit in the box will be usable in games of Age of Sigmar. The thought of bringing the brave heroes, vile villains, and terrifying monsters of the streets of Ulfenkarn to the battlefields of the Realms makes me very happy, and I can’t wait to see the abilities of all the different units. With that in mind, here are three units I’m super excited to try out in my games of Age of Sigmar.
Qulathis the Exile
As a longtime fan of the Aelves, specifically the Wanderers, I’m pretty psyched to add this archer to my lists. Since she’s listed as being a Kurnothi rather than a Wanderer, I’m hoping she is a sign of things to come and that a full release of the Fae Forest Aelves is coming with her at the head. Also, I’m a huge fan of archery lists (my wood elf list back in Fantasy never had to move, and I looooved Tomb Kings shoot spam) so having a good archer hero makes me pleased. Here’s hoping she’s as good as she looks.
Vyrkos Blood-born
We always hear about the feral vampires like Varghulfs and Vargheists, but it’s cool to see something with a bit more of a predatory vibe. I love the bestial paws and aggressive pose of these models, and I can’t wait to see how they act in both the Cursed City game and Age of Sigmar. And much like Qulathis…I’m hoping they and everything else we’ve seen is a sign of things to come and a Soulblight revamp (forgive the pun).
Kritza, the Rat Prince
I’m not going to lie, I love rats; I’ve kept them as pets before, I think they’re adorable, and I’m a huge fan of the Skaven. Having a vampire that embraces the verminous hordes is just a lovely union of two of my favorite things. I’m hoping he’ll retain his ability to turn into a rat swarm in the main game as some sort of retreat gimmick or that he’ll have a rat-based signature spell. Regardless of how he plays, he’ll be making his way into my army because…he has to.
What hero are you looking forward to running?
