MTG: Japanese Planeswalker Championship Promo Spoilers
Some gorgeous new art on display at the Japanese Planeswalker Championship event, check out new versions of Basri, Vito, and Seasoned Hallowblade.
The Japanese Planeswalker Championship is coming up, and to help promote it, there are three exclusive brew cards featuring new art that will be distressingly hard to get (as they’re currently only available in Japan) but, well, just look at why you’d want them.
First up, Basri Ket, Devoted Paladin.
Effect of card: [+1]: Put a +1/+1 counter on up to one target creature. It gains indestructible until end of turn.
[−2]: Whenever one or more nontoken creatures attack this turn, create that many 1/1 white Soldier creature tokens that are tapped and attacking.
[−6]: You get an emblem with “At the beginning of combat on your turn, create a 1/1 white Soldier creature token, then put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control.”
Second, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, everyone’s favorite vampire cleric.
Effect of card: Whenever you gain life, target opponent loses that much life.
{3}{B}{B}: Creatures you control gain lifelink until end of turn.
Finally, my personal favorite of the three, the new look for Seasoned Hallowblade, which really captures the feel of this card, much more so than the original art.
Effect of card: Discard a card: Tap Seasoned Hallowblade. It gains indestructible until end of turn. (Damage and effects that say “destroy” don’t destroy it.)
Love to see some old friends getting a new look.
What cards would you wanna see given a different art style revamp?
