MTG: WotC Confirms The Strixhaven Spoiler Everyone Thinks Is A Fake Is Real
Have you ever released a card with art so experimental that the official company Twitter has to confirm it’s real? Strixhaven is wild, y’all.
It seems fitting that a card set all about a college of experimental magic would be one to dabble in experimental art. As we’ve seen with the new Strixhaven set, some of the art is a little wild indeed, with reimagined favorites getting a bold new look to head back to school.
But, sometimes, in school you hand in an assignment that either “pushes the bounds” or “is a little out there” depending on which professor receives it. And so seems to be the case with the new art for Faithless Looting, a card out of the Dark Ascension set which is a handy 1 drop red card that lets you draw two, discard two, and has flashback 2 colorless, 1 red.
The new version, though, is a departure of the typical artwork, to the point that many online communities were questioning the veracity of the art, leading moderators/posters to ask people to stop reporting the card. It’s the first time in a long while that a card has had this kind of effect. What’s all the fuss about? Let’s take a look at the new Fatihless Looting.
Personally, I love it. It feels very much like the kind of chance you’d take while you were in school. It’s a time for taking risks, and while this card doesn’t have the same aesthetic as most, its photorealistic-cut-out art makes it stand out. Your mileage may vary, but whatever your opinions of it, this is in fact the actual card and the actual art. Now you might be sitting there, staring in some kind of disbelief, but WotC themselves confirm, this is the real deal:
For those asking in the comments: This is the real deal and legal in Historic! The Where to Find #MTGStrixhaven Previews article is getting a few updates and adjustments today.

So there you have it. The proof in the pudding. I cannot wait to add this to my deck, who knows if we’ll see more like it. Love it or hate it, this card is definitely making an impact, and knowing Lorehold, that’s all that matters.
