Have you heard about Frostgrave? How about Stargrave? Stargrave is going to be ‘Frostgrave in Space’ –  and it comes out soon!

If you want to learn more about it, Osprey Games just released an entire chapter to the book for free!!! I know! That’s incredible!

When I get a new set of rules, one of the things I like to do first is to check out the forces available. This lets me know if I can play the game with the miniatures I already own, or gets the creative juices going on what I could do to get in on the game. Now, I just got my review copy of Stargrave, and I like what I see so far!

I was planning to talk a little bit about the characters that you can take into the game. But rather than having me talk about how you can play as one of 8 classes for your Captain and hire from a roster of 17 soldier types to make up your crew of 10 miniatures, you would be better off heading to Osprey Games and picking up a substantial PDF preview of Stargrave while it is still available.

This preview gives you a full 18 pages all about the types of Captains, First Mates, and Soldiers that you can bring into their game. This is pretty substantial and it lets you preplan what figures you want to bring into the game, and helps you decide if this is a system that you want to dig deeper into.

You can find it on their Game Resources page for Frostgrave.  It is at the bottom of the page. I also directly linked to the file here too.

Wrapping it up…

Thank you for joining me in this awareness article to let you know about a free PDF currently available for Stargrave by Osprey Games. Be sure to jump on that fast so you can check out a bit about this upcoming ruleset. Oh yes, if you are interested in the full ruleset, check out the Stargrave Facebook Page and keep your eye on North Star Military Figures. North Star Military figures will be running a pre-sales campaign (likely in April), where you can get the miniatures and rules to this game at what will likely be a pretty good deal.

For those who prefer to buy from America, Brigade Games usually partners with North Star Military Figures for these “pre-sales” campaigns (which a lot of people call “Nickstarters” because the guy who runs North Star is named Nick).

If you haven’t checked out my personal site, Must Contain Minis, be sure to check that out too. I do reviews, showcases, and news of all sorts of miniatures and miniatures related products that are not connected to GW.

Until next time, Happy Gaming Everyone!!!
