After 21 Years, Total War: Warhammer Developers Are The Biggest Devs In UK
Creative Assembly has a lot to celebrate today, with the launch of a brand new studio that makes it the largest UK games developer.
Summon the Elector-Counts everyone, Creative Assembly has amassed enough people to become a faction unto themselves, according to a recent release from the popular UK Games studio. Creative Assembly, makers of Total War: Warhammer and the rest of the Total War series, are celebrating 21 years of Total War and a surprising amount of growth over the last year with the opening of a third studio.
Operating in West Sussex, this new studio brings CA’s total development space to more than 100,000 square feet, comprising three UK studios, a state-of-the-art Motion Capture facility, and an Eastern European base with CA Sofia in Bulgaria. What does that mean?
It means that Creative Assembly is ready to go full throttle with their new projects, perhaps the biggest of which is Total War: Warhammer 3, slated for release later this year(!), and an oft-mentioned but little-talked about new sci-fi shooter IP, which famously, District 9 Director Neil Blomkamp, has gotten to see.

Creative Assembly has been topping the charts lately, with Warhammer 3 still going strong on the Steam pre-order rankings, beating out many other popular franchises in both the US and China, meaning that this past year of growth might be just the beginning for the UK studios.
And now with 800 permanent employees, and an eye towards flexible working plans as the norm, this new studio promises to help support that. And with new motion capture facilities it looks like CA will be getting a big upgrade soon. Which all bodes extremely well for the Empire, in a weird way.
Because when the powers that create the Elector-Counts are happy, then everyone’s happy. Except for Beastmen players–but that’s honestly for the best.
If a beastmen player ever felt joy, the shock might kill them
