Games Workshop has a new trailer for Angels of Death and it’s got tons of cultists ready to fight for the Emperor.

Which Emperor? Well that’s the kicker, right? This new trailer showcases the highly stylized vision of the Grimdark and it’s looking stunning.

“That’s right, the noble sons of Sanguinius are about to find themselves face to face with the Genestealer Cults once again. Veteran hobbyists may remember the Blood Angels first clashing with Genestealers back in the original Space Hulk, and suffice to say they have not worked out their differences since then. “

Blood Angels vs Genestealer Cultists? Gee, I wonder if the Tyranids are going to show up at all? Hard to have a Genestealer Cult without a Genestealer running around somewhere.

Anyhow, we get good look at the Cultists and the Astra Militarum Guardsmen in this one. And of course some visceral action with the Blood Angels. Personally, I’m really liking the drastic monochromatic look with the bright splashes of Red – Armor, lasers, and blood – throughout the trailer. It’s a cool, stylized choice and I can’t wait to sit and watch the whole thing.

Here’s a few more screenshots thanks to WarCom:

We’ve got miners and mutants…think we’re in for a Bug Hunt!

Guardsmen or Cultists? More like Target Practice for the Blood Angels…

I think we might have an open rebellion on our hands – no wonder the Blood Angels are getting called in.

Games Workshop also had this to say:

“We’ve been building up to the release of Angels of Death since the announcement in 2018, and rest assured your wait is nearing its end.”

Animation takes a while to complete so it’s unsurprising it’s taken 3 years. What’s great is that it’s getting closer to being released! The next big question is “where will it be released at?” What’s something GW teased but didn’t reveal distribution plans…yet. We’ll be staying tuned either way. With all the animation projects they have I’m sure they are working on ways to inject that directly into fan’s eyeballs.
