D&D: You Can, In Fact, Make Oops All Drizzt In ‘Dark Alliance’
Developers have revealed that in the upcoming Dark Alliance, you’ll be able to party up with as many Drizzt’s as your heart desires.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is an upcoming co-op brawler that features four different characters that D&D players (and readers of R.A. Salvatore novels) will be familiar with: Drizzt Do’Urden, Catti-brie, Wulfgar, and Bruenor Battlehammer. Players will take control of a character and can upgrade them and loot more weapons and armor–all the standard stuff, really.
But, you don’t have to get stuck in with one of each. According to a recent reveal from Dark Alliance devs on Twitter, you’ll be able to party up with as many Drizzt’s (or Wulfgars or Bruenors or Cattis-brie) as you like. Meaning you can trololol your way through the twists and turns of the combat-heavy campaign, which is perfect.

Further back in the thread, linked above, you can find answers to other frequently asked questions, such as how the game handles loot (about the way all of these games do), and whether or not there will be crossplay (no, but there will be crossgen play so you can still play with your friend who managed to snag that PS5 while you creep along with your PS4).
But the fact that you can bring multiple copies of Drizzt or Wulfgar or whomever into battle does seem to raise the question? Which of these characters would be the best to fill a party with? Is it all Drizzts? All Wulfgars? All Cattis-brie? All Bruenors?
The other interesting scenario that this could lead to is a party where one of the four characters doesn’t make an appearance. While auto matchmaking online will try and group you with a full party, if nobody’s playing Drizzt, you might have oops two Wulfgars or the like.
It’ll be a testament to the popularity and playability of each characters to see who steps forward. At any rate you’ll get to take all of these characters for a test drive yourself in a month and a half, with Dark Alliance releasing on June 22nd.
Happy Adventuring!
