Age of Sigmar: Pest Control – Stormcast Response to the Vulcha
The Orruks have the bird; what ever will Sigmar do?
Now that Age of Sigmar 3.0 has firmly established itself, full army releases for the two new(-ish) forces are not far off. We know that the new army books will be released sometime in August, and not far behind will be a host of brand new kits and models to fill out the Kruleboyz and Stormcast. Most recently, we’ve seen the Corpse-Rippa Vulcha kit, a massive armored bird carrying either a Killaboss or the sorcerous Mouth of Mork on its back, and it looks like an absolutely incredible piece. We have a promise that the Stormcast will have some response for the big murder bird, but what could Sigmar produce that we haven’t already seen to counter this monster?
New Warmachine
One thing we could see would be a new war machine, perhaps something like a large ballista. We already have the Celestar, but it would be interesting to see if we got something more suited to taking down monsters. With monsters being such a big part of 3.0, it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see a monster-slaying war machine, especially one bunkered with a Lord-Ordinator.
Dragon Rider
Again, this is something that we already have, but it would be interesting to see an alternate take of a smaller draconic creature. The Stardrake is an incredible centerpiece model, but only paladins or Lord-Celestants can ride them. I would love to see a sorcerer mounted on something that size, especially with all the recent lore dumps about the return of the ancient drakes.
Star Eagles
Yup, that’s right, this is just another new take on an old Stormcast concept, but we are admittedly running a little thin on new things to give them. I would love to see a larger, phoenix-sized eagle model, with or without rider, to counter the Orruk Vulcha, and I think it would make an awesome juxtaposition between the regal bird of the Stormcast and the twisted mount of the Orruks. This might be reaching, but it would still be awesome.
What do you think the new Stormcast mini will be?
