Age of Sigmar: Gobsprakk’s New Rules Preview
The Kruleboyz are getting a crazy new character with Gobsprakk and today we’re getting a better look at his rules.
Hopefully you’ve already met Gobsprakk and seen his amazing new model. If you haven’t yet allow me to introduce him once again:
There is a lot going on with this model and you can take all the time you need to digest it. But once you’re done, we’ve got another meal for you – how about some rules for this new Kruleboyz Character?
Now, we already got a hint a one rule but here’s a longer look at the text:
But did you know he’s got even more tricks? He’s got a little buddy named Rinklefinga who’s got a Screamin’ Mandrakk that can be quite distruptive:
And yes, those two can stack for a serious Whammy on an enemy spell slinger. That’s not the only assault on the senses this model is packing, either. To continue this theme Gobsprakk’s Summon Boggy Mist doesn’t so much go for eyes as it does the nose:
Folks do tend to blame the swamp gas for a lot of strange phenomena in real life. But I always figured it was just playing tricks on the eyes and not causing hallucinations because of the smell. At least you won’t have to wonder where the smell is coming from. I can see why the Kruleboyz would want to move away from the smell faster and everyone else would want to uh…steady themselves as they go in.
Did you know that the Mouth of Mork also has access to a new spell lore that is specific to the Kruleboyz? Fittingly, it’s called “Lore of the Swamp” and he can sling two spells a turn. That should help mix things up. Here’s a few examples from the lore:
Oh now this is a callback to another spell involving a pit. Anyhow, it’s going to punish those units with heavy armor. Suddenly that 3+ armor save is a detriment to survival – at least against this type of magic.
Sneaky Miasma is just a good way to get some extra movement out of your Kruleboyz Monster units. Gee, I wonder if Gobsprakk will have the Monster keyword considering what he’s riding into battle.
Wouldn’t that be a fun little combo. We also get a bit a more about some of Gobsprakk’s stats, too:
“As well as opening up all these terrifying tactical possibilities with magic, Gobsprakk is fairly handy in close combat. He carries a Bogbark Staff with a Range of 3” that deals D3 damage with each bonk. Add that to Killabeak’s – his Corpse-rippa Vulcha’s – 14” flying movement, and Gobsprakk can rocket around the battlefield causing foul-smelling mayhem.”
If he does get to cast Sneaky Miasma on himself, he’s going to be able to shuffle around the battlefield quite a bit! But it’s not like the Kruleboyz are going to be hurting for options in the monster department. We’ve just got wait for the rest of the kits to arrive.
Gobsprakk, the Mouth of Mork coming to swamp things up very soon!
