D&D: Baldur’s Gate 3 Glitch Makes NPCs Bend Over Backwards To Look At You
Do you ever get the feeling you’re being watched? If so, you’re probably playing the latest version of Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has been in early access for almost a year and players are still discovering new glitches, bugs, exploits, and ways to break the game. A particularly ironic one has reached meme levels and is making its way around the internet, after players found that during certain cutscenes NPCs could lock eyes with a player and maintain contact no matter the cost.
No matter the cost. As one player has captured below, you can see an NPC bend over backwards to keep looking at the PC.
What catapults this glitch into memeworthy levels is the fact that it happens after the player is told to be more careful because the NPC and her allies won’t always be watching. She then proves that’s absolutely not true and engages in some twisted displays to prove it.
This is particularly appropriate for the NPC, Korilla Hearthflame, a servant of a fiendish power you might encounter within the game. It seems that she’s been given some truly infernal power indeed. Of course, that isn’t the only bug you’ll find out there right now–though a recent fix has been implemented to prevent NPCs from rising from their graves when you make certain dialogue choices, and to stop them from running away from the player (which may be the source of the glitch we’re here celebrating today), there are still plenty of glitches being found.
Like this jumping goblin and the inattentive halfling who just casually go about their business while the player character has a nice discussion.
Of course, with Baldur’s Gate 3 in early access you should expect the occasional glitch or dozen to make life interesting while you play through and wait for the devs to hit launch day. Sadly that doesn’t look like it’ll be until 2022, thanks to various delays, but in the meantime, the game will be polished to a fine sheen.
