‘Free Guy’ Scores $51 Million Box Office Opening and a Sequel
Ryan Reynolds has another hot movie on his resume – ‘Free Guy’ is a hit.
The movie managed to pull in the largest opening weekend since the pandemic started – $51 million globally. 20th Century Studios (aka Fox after the merger with Disney) went with a theater-only release and the gamble paid off. It was only expected to pull in $15-20 million, but a ton of favorable reviews and a great marketing campaign helped push folks to buy tickets.
And it sounds like fans will be getting more time with Guy.
