Games Workshop Rumor Engine: Getting A Grip On Things
There’s a new Rumor Engine today because it’s Tuesday. And this week it sure looks like someone is getting a grip on things.
Alright folks, you know the drill. It’s a new Rumor Engine so fire-up your brains and get to guessing as to what this one could be. Here’s a hint: it’s probably a weapon.
“The prophecy is true – the portents have aligned, and a mysterious image has manifested. We must make the most of this benevolent gift.”
So what the heck are we looking at? Well, we’ve clearly got a humanoid hand – I’m counting 4 fingers and we can assume there is a thumb on the other side. That rules out most Xenos or Chaos Daemons. It’s also a bare hand without armor. So it’s likely not a Space Marine. We can also see a haft that’s got a bit of a grip on it so this looks like some type of two-handed polearm or axe with a double grip. It looks like an imperial grip honestly.
And of course the blade… can’t forget that. Clearly, this is some type of close-combat weapon and it’s giving me 40k vibes. That said, it could be something for AoS as well – those weapon smiths are getting pretty good at crafting things, too.
Ignore the armor for a second – these weapons look pretty fancy!
If we remove the obvious options that it can’t be we’re left with a few options it can be. It’s likely human (Imperium or possibly Cities of Sigmar). Could this be a new weapon for the Inquisition, Astra Militarum, or something else? That seems like the best bet. But hey, it’s a Rumor Engine and guessing is part of the fun!
