MTG: Jumpstart Historic Horizons – The Rats Pack(et)
Everyone loves rats–they make for awesome pets who will love you unconditionally, and they also make for an amazing deck, especially in the new Magic set.
That’s right folks it’s time to take a look at another packet list from the upcoming Jumpstart: Historic Horizons set, the digital-only Magic: the Gathering expansion that does what no other Magic set possibly could by using the power of the internet, and Magic: Arena to bring you cards with special digi-buffs.
And yes, that does sound like the opening of a new animated cartoon series, and it might even be the final intro for whatever Magic: the Gathering animated series ends up being released eventually, but hey you know what, I’m here for it. Let me digi-volve my Magic Cards is all I’m saying.
At any rate, these rats are buds. Like the Ruin Rat, which is new to Historic Horizons in the Rats packet. Who doesn’t want a 1/1 with Deathtouch to absolutely ruin someone’s day.
Okay what about a rat ninja? No word on whether or not you’ll find some adolescent turtles to learn alongside it, but this rat will help you clean out your opponent’s graveyard.
Okay how about this one which will just put cards into the graveyard for your other one to then exile.
Lots and lots of rats ready to do things that you wouldn’t expect a rat to do.
And finally a card that feels like it’ll be out of place in Historic Brawl, but also bringing something back to your hand for a single black feels pretty incredible.
