Nicolas Cage Gets Wild in ‘Prisoners of The Ghostland’ – New Trailer

The movie is from Japanese director Sion Sono – the mind behind Tag, Why Don’t You Play in Hell?, Himizu, and Love & Peace, and others. Sono is a provocateur that uses surreal imagery, grotesque violence, and complex stories in his work – in the same school as Takashi Miike and Shinya Tsukamoto.
Nic Cage has stated that Prisoners of The Ghostland is “the wildest movie I’ve ever made.” Which is saying a lot given what’s on his resume.
Be prepared for epic weirdness and a wild ride unlike any you’ve watched.
In the treacherous frontier city of Samurai Town, a ruthless bank robber is sprung from jail by a wealthy warlord, The Governor, whose adopted granddaughter has run away. Strapped into a leather suit that will self-destruct within five days if he doesn’t find the missing girl, the bandit sets off on a journey to find the young woman — and his own path to redemption.
The cast includes Nicolas Cage, Sofia Boutella (The Mummy, Atomic Blonde), Bill Mosley (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, House of 1,000 Corpses), Nick Cassavetes (Face/Off, The Hangover Part II), and Tak Sakaaguchi (Why Don’t You Play in Hell?, Gokudô heiki).
Prisoners of The Ghostland will be in theaters and on-demand on September 17.
