It’s the personal flagship of the leader of the First Order, a massive Star Dreadnought six times the size of Mt. Everest, the Supremacy.

When it comes to the ships of the galaxy, the Galactic Empire is known for making them big and intimidating. The First Order saw themselves as the inheritors of the ideals of the Galactic Empire. They seized upon this design philosophy and doubled down faster than a Sabaac player with a winning hand. This resulted in the all-too accurately named “Mega-class Star Dreadnought”, the first of which would serve as the personal flagship of Supreme Leader Snoke.

The Supremacy

Officially known as the Supremacy, but more colloquially known as “Snoke’s Boudoir” among enemy and ally alike, the Supremacy is one of the largest single vessels in the recorded history of the galaxy, coming in with a massive wingspan that measures more than 60,000 meters long – the length of approximately 37 Imperial-class Star Destroyers, and a length of 13,239 meters, the Supremacy was nothing if not big.

Its massive size allowed this ship to serve not only as a gargantuan battle platform, but it also was the mobile headquarters of the First Order, functioning as both a command center and capital metropolis. The construction teams required to build this ship numbered in the thousands – and this was the magnum opus of Kuat-Entralia Engineering. The Supremacy was built in secret and at staggering cost within the Unknown Regions of the galaxy to the specifications of Supreme Leader Snoke, with the aim of reigniting the fear the Empire had once inspired in the galaxy.

Ship’s Specs

As mentioned, the Supremacy was nothing, if not massive. It took 32 sublight engines and at least six fusion reactor complexes–all improvements from the designs of the Death Star 1 & 2 – in order to get the ship moving at speed, but it carried a staggering array of firepower with enough heavy turbolasers, anti-ship missile batteries, heavy ion cannons, and tractor beam projectors to make even a Super Star-Destroyer feel inadequate.

It could carry in its hangars up to 8 of the First Order’s Resurgent-Class Star Destroyers. Not to mention the full complement of TIE/fo and TIE/sf Fighters. It also hosted more than two million personnel. This included Stormtroopers, Officers, and the crew required to operate the massive command ship.

The Supremacy required at least 10 military staging areas to make its corps of Stormtroopers ready to deploy. In battle, it could take ships into its internal bays for in-combat repairs. This gave the First Order a distinct edge in sustained fleet battles, like the attack on the Republic Fleet.

The ship was also designed with Snoke’s grandiose ambitions in mind. It came with an assembly hall to house up to 200,000 personnel. The ship also had a massive bridge. This allowed a 360-degree view of everything happening within the cityscape-like structures on the wings of the destroyer.

The Supremacy also had a massive “throne room”. From here, the Supreme Leader could sit in the style of the Galactic Emperor. Here he could make holographic broadcasts to distant First Order subjects. This allowed Snoke to remain shrouded in mystery.

The ship was devastated by the Resistance fleet when Admiral Amilyn Holdo took the Resistance’s own flagship Raddus. Then the fleet rammed the Supremacy at lightspeed through a complicated hyperspace jump, which dealt serious damage to the Supremacy. It also destroyed several of the escorting Resurgent-class Star Destroyers. This bought the Resistance fleet enough time to escape the First Order’s pursuit.

But the Supremacy was not destroyed – it was just damaged enough that the First Order declared it a lost cause. They evacuated and scuttled it not long after the battle with the Raddus.

May the Force be with you!
