Really want to see The Green Knight but not digging the idea of going to a theater right now? A24 is offering a one-night-only online screening.

You’ll be able to watch it on your computer, AppleTv, or Roku for $20 (you can also gift a ticket to other folks if you so choose).

I saw it opening weekend – it’s very good. Acclaimed director David Lowery’s adaptation of the Arthurian story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is a gorgeous, dark medieval fantasy. It’s a bit meandering at times, but the elements woven through it are engaging and the acting is superb – Alicia Vikander and Dev Patel should both get Oscar nominations for their work. Did I mention that it’s a beautiful visual feast?

If you don’t feel safe going to a theater for it, I’d take advantage of this online screening.

The Green Knight tells the story of Sir Gawain, King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger, and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to define his character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger.

Dev Patel leads the cast as Sir Gawain and is joined by Ralph Ineson as the Green Knight, Joel Edgerton, Barry Keoghan, Alicia Vikander, and Sean Harris.

You can watch The Green Knight online via the A24 Films screening room on August 18th at 8 pm central time – get your ticket here.
