Age of Sigmar: More FAQs & Errata Updates Released
Games Workshop is back with another round of Errata for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.
This round of updates isn’t quite as extensive as the previous one. However, it does include more changes and updates to the Core Rules as well as the General’s Handbook 2021. And the Sylvaneth which got a fairly big update. We encourage you to check out all the updates, particularly for the Core Rules and GHB. While the changes are that crazy, it’s good to know how things are clarified.
Core Rules FAQ/Errata
The big changes from the Core Rules Errata was how Wounds and Wards got expanded upon. Wounds, as an example, still get allocated to a unit even if a model from that unit gets removed from play for other reasons.
It’s a pretty niche case scenario but covering those types of things is what the Errata/FAQs are for. Wards, on the other hand, got a lot more attention as GW added some additional clarification to how they work.
Again, mostly clarifying a few things and defining a ward and ward roll. It’s also good to know that the “spillover” wounds/mortal wounds from triggered effects don’t also get a save.
General’s Handbook 2021 FAQ/Errata
The GHB 2021 clarification was pretty short:
Slight tweaks to both the Chronomatic Cogs and Umbral Spellportal. Only once per turn on those teleporting spells now…
Battletome: Sylvaneth
This update is the one that was missing from the earlier batch of updates. It’s got the new versions of the Endless Spells and the Awakened Wyldwood (although I’m not entirely sure if much changed from the previous versions of those spells/terrain rules). It’s also got a full page of updates and FAQs for Sylvaneth players to chew on.
So that’s the last bit of updates on the Age of Sigmar front (for now). There was one more bit that I personally wanted to cover from the previous FAQ update but I’ll go ahead and mention it here. It’s concerning the Ossiarch Bonereaper FAQ. You may remember that I didn’t even try to hide my disappointment last time:
However, Games Workshop seems to have taken note of the player’s reaction to the previous FAQ. The Errata for August 2021 made a pretty BIG change that is noteworthy:
The key thing here is that units can now use their Relentless Discipline Points as originally intended (mostly). They still have the restriction of not being able to issue or be given more than one command per phase. But this DOES allow units like the Mortek Guard to do what they used to do again. I’m still not 100% happy with the FAQ for the OBR as they still don’t get access to a ton of the new rules for the new edition…but this is at least an olive branch.
What do you mean? This is me smiling…
What do you think of the FAQ/Errata updates?
