Age of Sigmar: Orruk Warclans Will Ransack Enemy Territories In ‘Path To Glory’
The new Path To Glory is all about taking Territory and building your forces that way…unless you’re Orruks!
Orruk Warclans are getting a new Battletome and a great way to create an army is to start a Path To Glory warband and expand from there. However, Orruks approach the narrative portion of Path To Glory a bit differently than other armies. They don’t tend to upgrade those territories they takeover…they Ransack them!
“These are territories your armies have discovered, and you’ll choose when to ransack them for loot!” said Sam. Not only do these rules add to the ongoing story of your army, they also make for a stark contrast with the do-gooding Stormcast Eternals.
If you’re reading that rule and you’re a little confused, it’s okay. Just know that the Orruks don’t cultivate the territories they take and to gain more points, they Ransack things. They also have their own Tornado of Destruction battleplan. Furthermore, they are shaped by the territories they take which are themed around who they encounter instead of being themed around the Orruk Warclans.
This is a pretty neat switch as it really represents an Orruk warband attacking their neighbors, taking their territory, and expanding their size from those gains. And when you increase in size, you might get to pull in Orruks from other sub-factions to your cause.
GW also mentioned that later on you’ll be able to even use the Big WAAGH! rules alongside your army rules as well – that’s going to be a potent combo to pull off! If you get large enough, eventually you might even get to recruit the likes of Kragnos to your cause…
