D&D Accessories To Get Your October Off To A Spooky Start
If you’re looking for a way to add the Halloween spirit to your next D&D session these treats will have your party creeped out or delighted or both.
October 1st – or as I like to think of it, Halloween 1st – is right around the corner. It’s almost time to incorporate everything spooky, scary, or delightfully faux-scary into our lives for a month while we wait for candy to go on super sale. If you’re looking for a way to add a little more of the Halloween spirit to your next D&D session, and maybe every other session all year round, these accessories will have your entire table thinking about horror movies and pumpkin spice. As always, links to shops are in the item titles.
Attack Pumpkin Minis
One of my favorite things to do for Halloween is get my local D&D friends together and play a festive on-theme game while we wait for trick-or-treaters to ring the door bell. If you’re looking for a little inspiration for your own horror one-shot, perhaps these killer pumpkin minis will give you a few ideas. Each figure is detailed and really creepy in their own right, taking the normal jack-o-lantern from fun October art project into something you should be running away from already.
Creepy Crawler D20
For me few things are quite as hair raising as a spider. In fact, I might not even touch this particular D20 if it was the closest on to me on the table when it came time to make a roll. There are dice sets out there with bats, skull, eyeballs, and any number of Halloween imagery, but if you’re particular to the creepy crawlers you can’t beat a D20 with a giant spider in it.
Spooky Polyhedral Notebook
We all either need more notebooks to take our game session notes in, or should be taking more session notes (I am decidedly in the second category). Whether you’re just about to start a long horror themed game or just looking to be a little spooky all year round, this notebook will have you thinking of zombies and cemeteries and haunted woods. And the natural one is the perfect touch to remind you that during game sessions things can, and will, go delightfully wrong.
Vampire Coffin Dice Vault
Coffins are quintessential horror imagery. Whether they remind you of death or vampires they’re always in the creepy spectrum, but this particular coffin will keep 7 of your favorite dice safe between game sessions. A magnetic lid will keep your dice put, and a variety of cover designs and color options will make this vault all your own.
Beetlejuice Dice
Some of us enjoy spending October watching scary movies and some prefer “scary” movies. These minty dice featuring one of the infamous sandworms has me nostalgic to re-watch Beetlejuice and then play a game with that same “horror themes with no actual horror” vibe. And then re-watch the animated series.
Do you have any Halloween specific D&D accessories to add to your table come October? Will any of our picks make your wish list? What’s your favorite way to make your sessions a little spookier this time of year? Let us know in the comments!
Happy Adventuring!
