Monsterpocalypse Showcase: Savage Swarm Starter & Master of the 8th Dimension
I recently finished painting up my first batch of Monsterpocalypse Destroyers. Let’s have a look!
The awesome bugs in this new starter were the perfect opportunity to jump the fence to the Destroyers’s side of Monpoc.
Dynastavus is the murder hornet to end all murder hornets. Her studio paint scheme has her in the same classic yellow and black as the wasps rebuilding their nest on my back porch for the third freaking time. I always like to try something a bit different so I started with the Tarantula Hawk wasp and dialed up the greens and blues on its iridescent carapace to 11.
I went with a little more green for the spy fly.
The Dire ants were the only ones where I felt compelled to go completely off the rails with a green and purple scheme. I’m sticking with the theme I started on my Protectors of putting a little gold on the elite models. The three standard ants just have the green and purple.
And that just leaves us with Magistrate. For this Master of the 8th dimension, I took all the strange geometric shapes as inspiration to paint an otherworldly stone golem. I guess the 8th dimension is chock-full of weird bluish-green stone ripe for building monsters with.
