Escapologic has teamed up with Games Workshop to create the first official Escape Room set in the Warhammer 40,000 Universe!

Prepare to go on an immersive experience like no other. It’s an Escape Room designed to be the inside of an Imperial Vessel with a twist – your warp jump just went a wonky. Can you escape the warp?

If you’re not familiar with an Escape Room the idea is fairly simple. You and a group of friends are placed into a thematic room with a series of puzzles you’ll have to solve in order to escape. Hence the name. What makes them fun and unique is typically the theme of the room. Perhaps you’re on a train car trying to solve a murder mystery. Maybe you’re trying to find clues to deactivate a bomb. Maybe you’re searching for the cure to a zombie plague. You get the idea. They have become a fun outing for folks looking for a bit of an adventure. I’ve gone to a few myself and they can be a lot of fun when executed properly. To me, the biggest thing is the theme and Immaterium appears to have nailed that.

The folks behind the experience worked with Games Workshop and the crew at Warhammer World to really nail the look and feel of the room(s). If you want an immersive 40k experience this is really going to hit home! Here’s what Frazer Varney from Esacpologic had to say:

In order to keep the feel authentic, we took loads of trips to Warhammer World and Warhammer stores to see models and paints in person. All the paints in Immaterium are actually colour matched with Citadel Colour paints, too.

We also incorporated plenty of iconic visuals from the Warhammer 40,000 universe, like recognisable logos, sigils, and pieces of machinery. Thankfully, the Games Workshop team was on hand to suggest some nice elements that’ll make fans happy.”

Well from the photos it looks pretty amazing! I’m impressed they managed to get the colors to match the citadel paint line – I hope they got a bulk deal on those paint pots…

Anyhow, if you’re interested in actually doing this Escape Room you should know it’s located in Nottingham. However, they DO have an online option for folks who can’t make the trip. Personally, I’d love to get back to Nottingham for another visit at Warhammer World and I’d definitely want to schedule a side excursion to Immaterium in person. But I’m also really glad there is an online option as well. I might have to get a crew together for that one!

Can you escape the Warp or will you be dragged into the Immaterium?
