Warhammer 40K: Kill Team Chalnath Introduces New Units And Returning Terrain
The upcoming Kill Team Box featuring Adepta Sororitas and T’au will feature some new units and some returning terrain options for your tabletop.
Games Workshop showed off the new Kill Team Box at GenCon this past weekend and folks were wondering what was up with those new Sisters of Battle. The T’au also had some new looks going on as well. Today, we’re getting a closer look at a few of the new models and a closer look at the terrain featured in the kit, too.
“This new set includes two new kill teams – T’au Pathfinders and Battle Sister Novitiates, with new models and new equipment – as well as a vast array of plastic scenery and a double-sided game board. There’s also a chunky 96-page rulebook containing detailed new rules for both teams and their operatives, as well as plenty of background on the escalating war for the Chalnath Expanse and nine new missions. “
New Novitiates
Novitiates are (as the name implies) new recruits to the Sisters of Battle. They are aspirants that must prove themselves before they become full-fledged Adepta Sororitas warriors. They are completely new to the 40k universe, too!
As they are a Kill Team release first you can expect a plethora of options for assembling these warrior-nuns. They will have “dozens of options” so you can build the Kill Team of your dreams. From Autoguns to Neural Whips and more these faithful ladies are going to dish out some righteous zeal in Kill Team.
T’au Pathfinders
While the unit itself isn’t new, the Pathfinders are getting some new toys to play with.
“Kill Team Chalnath comes with a comprehensive new upgrade sprue for the existing Pathfinder kit, meaning new heads, new gadgets, new guns, and even a few new poses – all you need to bring the Greater Good to the recalcitrant Imperial citizens of the Chalnath Expanse.”
So that confirms that – the Pathfinders are getting what is essentially a new upgrade sprue to go along with their old kit. This should help add some unique looks and gear to the models and help you customize your Kill Team for the missions ahead.
Returning Terrain
The Terrain featured in the new box is bits from the discontinued Sector Imperialis set. This set is one of my personal favorite sets and seeing it get re-used in this Kill Team box is great news. It’s thematically one of the coolest looking sets GW has made for Imperial Terrain. It’s also highly modular and compatible with just about all of the 40k Terrain sets out there. So mix and match and make it your own!
Kill Team: Chalnath is looking like quite the “behind enemy lines” battle between the T’au and Adepta Sororitas – what do you think so far?
