Kill Team: T’au Pathfinders Get Loads Of New Toys In ‘Chalnath’
Kill Team: Chalnath is adding some more advanced tech to the T’au Pathfinders – come see what’s new!
We got a look at the new Adepta Sororitas Rules yesterday. We even got a look at the new terrain rules, too. Now we’re diving into the new Pathfinders for the T’au and how they have been updated in Chalnath.
“Pathfinder teams range ahead to disrupt the defenders. Led by combat veterans with many years of experience, they creep through rubble to gather information and assassinate targets with ruthless efficiency.”
The Leader
What’s interesting about the Shas’ui Pathfinder is that he makes the other Pathfinders very flexible on the tabletop. Using his Art of War ability, you can adapt your warriors to what you need for that turn.
One other thing to note is that Markerlights are back and have gotten an update as well.
“You’ll also notice that, in true Pathfinder fashion, he’s equipped with a markerlight. While markerlights are present in the Kill Team Compendium, these versions have been considerably tuned up and offer a greater array of stacking bonuses for each markerlight on a target. “
Those markerlights are going to lead to some excellent shooting when you need it. Is it worth using a handful of Pathfinder’s markerlights on a target for that one big gun? Kind of depends on the target but with the right weapon that could be a devastating blow. Markerlights aren’t the only thing they are getting either.
Jamming enemy systems is a great way to counter some of those pesky ploys your opponent might try. Pathfinders have a lot of ways to mess with their targets that don’t involve the “just shoot them” approach.
Oh – and don’t forget to bring in the Drones!
Sneaky Tricks
One of the things to remember for your games of Kill Team is the objectives. And T’au might not be the toughest out there but they can surprise folks with their speed and range. Knowing when to spend your CPs to get the most out of them is what’s going to separate the Drones from the Shas’ui out there.
Getting that free Dash could buy you some much needed distance to snag an objective, get to cover, or line up the perfect shot.
And sometimes getting out of a fist fight is the better play — especially for T’au Pathfinders!
