Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is the XCOM/40K crossover that you didn’t now you were waiting for. In a new gameplay trailer, the developers from Complex Games take us deep inside the game, showcasing some of the mechanics that your force of Grey Knights has at their disposal. Because to hear them talk about it, they’re reimagining the genre to capture the feel of an elite Grey Knights unit–no more missing a 99% shot.
The game looks like it’s going to deliver the spirit of Chaos Gate but with even more customization mixed in. This is the part that has us incredibly excited here at BoLS. Let’s take a look at some of this now. You can sculpt your squad to suit your mission, outfitting them with weapons and classes…
…as well as abilities and psychic powers and equipment.
But, equally as exciting are some of the tactical possibilities opened up with new mechanics–there are environmental actions you can take. You can destroy bridges, collapse statues, kick through doors–and so much more.
And all of that without a glimpse at the new, revamped melee mechanics, which are meant to capture the heart of what makes a Grey Knight a Grey Knight.
