MTG: Crimson Vow Commanders – Spirit Squadron
Crimson Vow’s Commanders are on parade right now, and today we’re looking at the Spirit Squadron. Get your 1/1 tokens ready.
A new Magic:The Gathering set means new Commander Decks, and the pre-constructed decks set to accompany Crimson Vow look like they’ll be a geistly good time. And we’re not just saying that because today’s Commander preview is packed with geists, although that is most of the reason. Feast your eyes on the Spirit Squadron!
Led by Millicent, Restless Revenant, who is gets cheaper by the spirit–she’s a blue white commander who creates 1/1 white Spirit tokens to overrun your enemy. And that’s a big part of what this deck wants to do. It looks for ways to create 1/1 spirit tokens, while outpacing any enemy strategies.
You can see it in a sampling of the creatures, who are designed to either pump out new spirits to help keep you either at pace or ahead of everyone at the table.
And though there are plenty of opportunities to create 1/1 Spirits, you can go surprisingly wide with your plays, since these cards are often all about copying other cards.
And your other creatures often buff other Spirits. When the deck gets going it can really spin up.
