Neil Gaiman Gives Fans an Ineffable Peek at ‘Good Omens 2’
Neil Gaiman offered us a peek at Good Omens 2 on his Twitter, and we have all been blessed by the return of this very effable friendship.
After the conclusion of the first season, fans are delighted to see Aziraphale and Crowley returning for another story. And thanks to Neil Gaiman’s benevolent online presence, we got a peek at Good Omens 2 and its stars behind the scenes.
Where Does the Story Go From Here?
The storyline of the second season of Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s beloved tale is a very exciting mystery for fans. After all, the book’s sequel wasn’t written before Pratchett’s passing in 2015– the two authors discussed it, but never penned the story.
But in yesterday’s Good Omens 2 peek, we’ve certainly seen our heroes reacting to a new certain someone who has yet to be revealed.
You waited. And here we see Crowley and Aziraphale, inside the bookshop talking to… well, that would be telling. Welcome to Season 2. This time it’s ineffable.#GoodOmens @PrimeVideo pic.twitter.com/ztm2fl9y3a

Amazon’s description of the upcoming season is certainly playing coy. But it’s likely this image is the beginning of another adventure for the ineffable husbands:
The new season will explore storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley.
Having been on Earth since The Beginning and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.
And what would this fictional pairing be without the perfect friendship of David Tennant and Michael Sheen? Gaiman’s Good Omens 2 peek also goes behind the scenes.
You waited. And now you see @michaelsheen and David Tennant, being perfectly effable.

The Cast of Good Omens 2
Last week, Gaiman told Empire that he’s very excited to be returning. He’s also happy to usher back many of the same performers from the first season. But some of them will be playing brand new, tailor-made roles.
“In this season we get to have new adventures with old friends, to solve some extremely mysterious mysteries, and we encounter some entirely new humans (living, dead, and otherwise), angels, and demons. We were lucky in the first season to have so many outstanding actors taking part, so I took pleasure in inviting people back, wherever we could, some in the roles they played originally, some in new parts written just for them.”

Season 2 will feature Paul Adeyefa, Michael McKean, Gloria Obianyo, and Miranda Richardson. Also returning are Maggie Service, Reece Shearsmith, and Nina Sosanya.
The unexpected surprise return of our favorite angel/demon duo has truly been a gift from the Almighty. It’s unclear if the team’s foiling of the end of the world will play a part in the upcoming storyline. But we have no doubt that this new story will be every bit as exciting and heartwarming as the first.
Until the series premieres next year, we’ll just have to swoon over the Good Omens 2 peek while binge-watching the six-episode first season. And even though it’s safe to visit bookshops again, we can also tide ourselves over with the couple’s helpful messages about social distancing.
Good Omens 2 will be available on Amazon Prime sometime in 2022!
