Ubisoft Employee’s Petition; Claim Company Ignoring Staff Abuse
Ubisoft employees petition, and according to employees, the company distributed raises while still neglecting to address the real issues.
Back in August, the employee group ABetterUbisoft wrote an open letter to the studio– and the gaming industry as a whole– asking for some foundational change. The letter was signed by more than 1,000 Ubisoft employees and aligned with the Activism Blizzard staff walkout.
Now 100 days later, their initial demands haven’t been met. So the group is creating an open petition, which you can sign here.

On November 5th, the group laid out their demands via Twitter. Included was a link promoting the petition and asking for all supporters to sign.
Ubisoft Employees Petition After No Action
Since then, Ubisoft hasn’t given an official response. On November 7th, Ubisoft Canada announced staff-wide pay raises would be effective immediately. But some criticize the pay raises because they don’t address the specific issues at hand.
And when you take a closer look, it starts to look more suspect. Senior developers receive a greater percentage in increase of wages. According to ABetterUbisoft, junior staff will receive an increase of 5%-7% while senior staff could see up to 20% increase in pay.
Some critics believe that this is a move to try and convince those devs to stay within the company. You know, since some have been leaving.
This news comes on the tail of Ubisoft Montreal discontinuing its 36-hour workweek over the past summer. Management reportedly considered the reduction in hours a success, but the company still declined to continue with the shorter work schedule.
What are your thoughts on ABetterUbisofts demands and the petition?
