The Fyreslayers and Idoneth Deepkin are going at it in the next Battlebox for Age of Sigmar. Get ready for the Fury of the Deep!

Everyone loves a good old fashioned throw down and that’s exactly what we’re getting with the next Battlebox from Games Workshop. Packed to the gills with miniatures it’s a battle of oceanic proportions with Fury of the Deep.

“That’s right – yet another ancient animosity reaches boiling point as bald heads meet long beards in Fury of the Deep, the next battlebox to rock the Mortal Realms.”

From the looks of things we are getting a pair of new miniatures for the two factions fighting in the box. First up, the Idoneth Deepkin:

Akhelian Thrallmaster

“The Thrallmaster shifts stances to effortlessly counter whichever opponent he faces, instructing his Namarti followers to follow suit.”

That’s quite the power-pose for the Deepkin. I like the spear as well as his pet eel hanging out on the rock. He’s also packing quite a few weapons and I’m curious to see how that works in terms of rules.

Auric Flamekeeper

“Standing against him is an Auric Flamekeeper, a Fyreslayer warrior priest who presides over a Lodge’s funerary rites.”

The Auric Flamekeeper is also new and appears to be a practitioner of rune magic. His power set that GW describes is that he removes the runes from fallen Fyreslayers and uses those to empower other Duardin. He also “bellows litanies” which could be a fun way to boost members of his warband.

Fury of the Deep Features

On top of both of these two new miniatures we’ve also got a bunch more in the box. Here’s a list from Games Workshop:

10 Vulkite Berzerkers

10 Namarti Reavers

1 Akhelian Allopex

1 Akhelian Thrallmaster

*These models can be built as either versions for a total of 10 models

In total it’s 43 miniatures that you’re going to get in the box. That’s plenty to start up a force for either faction. Interestingly, both of these armies are from the Grand Alliance of Order – theoretically, you could even use them to ally with each other as well. It’s curious that GW has pit them against each other in this one.

We’ll be keeping an eye on this one for sure!
