It seems like almost all Star Wars characters have tragic and flawed backgrounds. You hardly ever see characters who grew up in nice, happy, fluffy homes. Everyone is tortured and conflicted.

Sith lords abound, and the Star Wars galaxy is rife with villains. We have a penchant for covering broody anti-heroes and villains (like Lestat, Loki and Prince Nuada), and this week is no different. Vaylin came from a tragic past, with a father who feared her power and a mother who was unable to save her.

Her background is full of on-again, off-again alliances with her twin brothers, betrayals of everyone on everyone, and plenty of political maneuvering, including some really sketchy power plays.
