Will we get a Netflix Mega Man? Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, strong evidence shows the Blue Bomber is on his way to streaming.

The production company Supermarché has given us some not-so-subtle hints that an adaptation of Capcom’s Mega Man is coming to Netflix.

On their blog, they posted their current development slate, which mentions among others, “an adaptation of Capcom’s MEGA MAN for Chernin Entertainment and Netflix”.

Chernin Entertainment signed a “first look” deal with Netflix in April of last year. They’ve produced films like The Greatest Showman, Hidden Figures, and the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy. They’re also behind popular TV series like New Girl.

Netflix has not officially mentioned the project, and it did not appear on their upcoming releases for 2022. So it’s a safe bet that this won’t see the light of day until 2023 at the very earliest. It’s possible that it could be lumped in with the “and many many more…” but I would hope a big name like Mega Man would be worthy of a title spot on the list.

Also worth mentioning is the fact of Supermarché are also currently working on Nemesis, based on the Mark Miller comic.

They don’t explicitly mention if the Mega Man adaptation will be a movie or a series. But if Castlevania can get a full series, why not Mega Man?

Personally, I’m hoping they follow the X series. It just had an objectively better storyline. But mostly I just wanna hear an official fully orchestrated “Wily’s Theme” from Mega Man 2.

What do you think they will do with this adaptation?
