‘Peacemaker’ Trailer Straps a Grenade to a Tank Shell– For Peace
Open wide and eat peace with the new Peacemaker trailer. Get ready for DC’s newest undercover team of underdogs led by John Cena.
HBO Max’s newest series features a fan favorite from 2021’s The Suicide Squad– John Cena’s hyper-patriot Peacemaker. And thanks to a brand new trailer, we get a thorough look at the upcoming series. Surely to be full of laughs, the show will also explore Peacemaker’s background– and possibly give him the chance to redeem himself.

This is a plenty-of-plot trailer, and we learn that Peacemaker will be joining a government team of hired assassins. The covert team will be tracking down what they call ‘butterflies’, a code word for their targets.
We’ve seen a previous clip of the wannabe hero meeting his new team already. And John Cena appeared at SDCC in full Peacemaker garb to drop another clip and participate in some cosplay shenanigans.

The Peacemaker trailer also features some great moments with Vigilante (Freddie Stroma). It also indicates that he and Peacemaker will team up outside of the context of the A.R.G.U.S. team.
In the comics, Vigilante and Peacemaker are usually at odds– it will be interesting to see what the show does with their character dynamic.
It was also great to see the ‘master of weapons building’ strap a grenade to a tank shell. That’s some A+ quality weapons-making right there.

The Cast & Crew of Peacemaker
Returning from The Suicide Squad, Emilia Harcourt will be played by Jennifer Holland. Steve Agee with reprising his role as John Economos.
Danielle Brooks will join the cast as Leota Adebayo and Chuykwuid Iwuji plays Clemson Murn. The legendary Robert Patrick will join the cast as Peacemaker’s father, Auggie Smith.
‘Peacemaker’ premieres this January 2022 exclusively on HBO Max.
