Warhammer 40K: New T’au Battlesuit Rules Revealed
T’au Battlesuits are getting a buff to help them in close combat. Yep, you read that correctly!
Fighting against the T’au Empire has often relied on getting your forces into “the safety of close combat” with them. While it’s a common concept that T’au aren’t exactly the best in close combat, these new Battlesuit rules might make you think twice before diving headlong into the fray.
“[Battlesuits are] tough, which allows experienced pilots to keep a clear head, even when surrounded by baying hordes of knife-wielding nasties. Those who think they can make easy prey of a battlesuit in melee will quickly become the target of point-blank gunfire, crushed underfoot by these surprisingly sprightly suits.”
Apparently only the T’au have mastered the art of Gun-kata. Their battlesuits can now fire their weapons even when in Engagement Range of enemy units. Albeit they have to fire upon the unit they are engaged with but still…that’s a big upgrade for them. And did we mention the T’au are also getting a bunch of gun upgrades? Because they are getting a bunch of gun upgrades…
Dakka, Dakka, Dakka! The T’au have more Dakka!? They must have been battling against Orks a lot recently. Oh and it’s not just popular gun options that have gotten deadlier, either. Those fancy support systems also got some new software updates apparently:
Must be nice to have engineers who actually work on improvements vs maintaining the status quo (glares harshly at Imperial Tech-priests).
In anycase, the T’au are getting re-tooled for the current edition. And that also means the new codex in 2022 will have more stratagems and updates for those, too:
Get ready for those tricky T’au to come roaring back to the tabletop in early 2022 when the codex drops. I’m sure the T’au Commanders out there are going to be itching to take these new rules out for a spin.
What do you think of these changes coming in 2022?
